SEED Interns

Ryan Loney, Coordinator


Ryan Loney is a second year majoring in Environmental Science and Policy. He is excited to be a part of SEED, and to continuing to spread environmental awareness. In the past he has volunteered for habitat restoration projects and various other environmental activities in his hometown. He was born and raised just outside of Fairfield, California, near Napa Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area. Having come from a family heavily involved in agriculture, he is very interested in sustainability and protecting our natural environment. Through SEED he would like to give kids the opportunity to see how valuable the environment is, and give them the knowledge they will need to protect their futures.

I am a 3rd year at UC Davis studying Managerial Economics and Education. I got involved with SEED to gain hands on experience in an elementary school classroom because after college I hope to be an elementary school teacher. While teaching children about the environment, I hope to educate myself more on this topic as well.

I am a second year majoring in biological sciences. I call home beautiful Reno, Nevada. I am excited to work with SEED and I hope my contribution to this programs leads to its growth in the future.

I am currently a first year at UCD. I joined SEED to gain an educational opportunity to work with children. I am passionate about children and have a heart to help others. I’m still undeclared as to which major I might choose. But I am looking into Biological Science or Nutrition. Helping others along the lines gives me the outlook of what it takes to teach children and how well I can cope with them using my qualities and skills. It has been brought to my attention that this worthwhile experience can help me prepare for my future career.

This is my first year at UC Davis, majoring in Film Studies and Economics. After I graduate I plan on going to Law school to become a business lawyer. I am from the Napa Valley where I have resided my whole entire life. I have been classically trained in ballet for 11 years and I would hopefully like to obtain a minor here at Davis in Dance. What I do with my free time here besides study is work at the Student Housing Television Station and I am an active member in Davis Christian Fellowship.

I was born and raised in sunny San Diego, California where the beach was essential from day one. My mother is a Pre-School teacher and I not only grew up there, spending my summers and hours after school there helping out, but I eventually worked there myself. I attended University City High School, where I was very involved in sports and our high school newspaper, while remaining very dedicated to my studies. I now attend the University of California, Davis, where I am a sophomore studying International Relations.

Hi, my name is Vikram Girn. I am an Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior major and I am joining SEED to experience something new. I love nature and I hold a great interest in learning new wonderous things about it. I
think children are curious little creatures and as adults, we should always strive to give them a enriched learning experience. I think this will be a great experience because teaching kids is fun when they're having fun!

Hi, my name is Sarah Gold and I am a first year majoring in international relations. I am really excited to do SEED because I love working with kids and I have a lot of experience since my mom is a teacher. I am considering being a teacher after college.

I am a second year human development major at UC Davis and I also plan on completing a minor in psychology or communications. Aside from school, I also hold another internship at the UC Davis Medical Center. This is my first quarter with SEED.

I am a third year at UC Davis majoring in Environmental Biology Management. One of my favorite things to do is ride horses, and I also love going to the beach and visiting my cabin in Tahoe. I grew up learning to love and care for the environment, and I hope that I can pass that along to all the kids I will be working with this quarter!

Hi my name is Staci Inspektor and I'm a sophomore majoring in Design, Fashion and Textiles. I love doing SEED because teaching kids is so much fun and in the end I feel like I learn more from them than they do from me! Being a part of this program has been a memorable and rewarding experience.

I am a second year majoring in Environmental Biology and Management. I love working with kids, this is my first quarter with SEED, but I have done many other internships working in elementary schools. I am excited to be able to teach about what I am learning about environmental science.

A 2nd year biology major at UC Davis. She enjoys the sciences, softball/baseball and rock climbing. Robyn has been working with children for years in day camps, after school day care and summer sport camps.

Hi, I'm Alicia Matosich and I'm a sophomore majoring in Exercise Biology. I am involved in SEED because I love being around kids. I taught dance lessons for 5 years to children of all ages and am currently the yard duty at Willett Elementary in Davis. I am also considering a career in teaching and I will be exposed to real-life situations in the classroom. SEED is a fun way to be around kids and help educate about the environment. :)

I am a member of the Make*A*Wish organization, as well as a licensed coach and referee for the non-profit youth soccer organization, AYSO. This is my first quarter interning with the SEED program, but hopefully not the last!

I spent a lot of time learning about global warming and it is something I am really passionate about. My philosophy for teaching is mainly that it is up to each one up to us individuals to be part of the solution and spread the knowledge.
